Final Project

Charles Street Apartments

Year 3, Term 2 (12 Weeks)

The project aims to create a multi-generational community, within an apartment complex. It is a brownfield site, located in the capital of Cornwall. Truro is an unusual city, with charming characteristics.

The 'Charles Street Apartments' are a solution to the housing demand for both students and the elderly. In addition, they provide holiday accommodation durin the summer, outside of university terms. This financially benefits the students, as they do not have to pay for rent in the summer months. This will reduce the maintenance costs that the permanent residents will pay, as the profite created by the holiday makers will be used to subsidies the costs.
